It's christmas time in the city

For one family night in December, we decided to make gingerbread house. We found this divine way to put gingerbread houses together and it worked like a gem. You use burnt sugar to assemble the houses and it was amazing. They actually stayed up and we didn't have to spend 95% of the time trying to get them to stay up. Thanks to Lance for taking one for the team when he burned his finger assembling the houses, but they worked out great. We had a great time decorating them and the boys loved it. I am not sure how much candy ended up on the houses vs their tummies, but it was a fun time and for sure a tradition we will do through the years. Here is the picture highlights. Decorating them up! This little guy slept through most of the action....he will get in on it one day. :) Love the little fingers working so hard here! All of us in front of the finished product. They turned out really cute. We also have been having a blast playing in the snow this winter. We told Ryland before he went to bed one night that it was supposed to snow. It was the first big snowstorm we had had this year. He woke up the next morning and came running down the stairs saying "it snowed, it snowed!" He was so excited. It has been fun to watch them get so excited about the snow. Fun times! Camden has been so funny with his lawn mower this winter. He loves that toy more than anything and even though it was not the easiest to push through the snow, he sure did push on. He didn't care and pushed it all over. He then was super mad that it was all wet and we told him he couldn't bring it back in. Well he won that battle but had to dry it all off before he could play with it again. And dry it all off he did. But look at that smile, he was so happy to be able to play with it again. Cam and his lawn mower....he loves it! And I love these boys. They are starting to be legit helpers with shoveling snow as well. It is great! We also got our first smiles from little Cohen before Christmas. It was so fun to watch him light up and smile. Love this little guy so much! I can't believe how quickly he is growing up. Ryland sure loves to talk and play with him. He is such a big helper! And how can you not love a comfortable sleeping baby. This is a common sight for him. Love it! And last but not least of course we had to go see Santa before Christmas. I LOVE this free event our city puts on before Christmas. The kids get to write letters to santa and do christmas crafts while we enjoy hot chocolate and cookies. Then we get our picture taken with Santa and they send them to us all for free. And Santa replies to the boys' letters that they mail to him. It is seriously the best. We love it! The pictures with Santa turned out so cute too, I loved them! Little Cohen with the jolly old st nick. The boys And family picture We had so much fun celebrating Christmas this year. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!
