S & S Railroad

This summer we discovered S & S Railroad. This place is a little gem of a railroad hidden right in our backyard. We have lived here 8 years and can't believe we have only discovered it this summer. It is amazing. This guy has a love for trains and has built an amazing railroad through out his property. It is a 17 minute long train ride, which the boys think is the greatest thing ever. They loved every second of it, especially my train loving Camden. They only do rides on certain days and times, and we were racing to fit it in after one of Rylands baseball games but were so glad we did. Ryland still has baseball black under his eyes, but we had a great time! Cam loves trains but is also rather terrified of them until he figures out what is going on. He always plugs his ears when the train is coming. And then once he knows the train isn't heading straight for him, or something like that, he is all smiles! Super excited to go for a ride. Cutest little train ever. Cos and I hanging out while the boys were riding the train Look at those smiles! Loving it! They also have a small park area with a toy train and swings. The boys had a blast running around on the train. And of course swinging! And last but not least they had this awesome model railroad you could look at. It reminded me so much of my Grandpa Ramsey. So many fond memories as a child heading to the basement with my Grandpa to have him run his model railroad for us. Cam was so interested and entertained by watching the trains go around on the track. I am sure he wished he could box it all up and bring it home with him. I sort of wanted to too! :) It was fun to watch them and remember the fun times I had doing that as a kid. Needless to say we have already been back since this trip and I am sure we will be returning many more times. It was such a fun day.

Ryland Baseball 2014

Ryland had such a great baseball season this year. It was really fun to watch him play too. I can't believe he is old enough to be on teams, and really understand what is going on. He LOVES it! It has literally been his life for the last 3 months, and ours too! It was really fun to watch him improve as the season went on. This year he played in the Shetland league. His regular season team did great. It took Ry a few games to get used to the pitching machine but by the end of the season he was hitting great! Here is a movie of Ry hitting. We went to the bees baseball game during the season as well. It happened to be on Lances birthday too! Lance was great about sharing his birthday with the boys to do something they love. We had a great night at the ballpark. Ry and Cam practicing their batting! Ryland played on the same team as his good buddy Nixon. We went to the bees game with their family. It was way fun to hang out with them and their kids. Good night all around! And of course the best part of the season is the medal at the end. Great job Ryland! Shortly after regular season the had tryouts for All-Starts. The tryouts were on a Saturday morning and they took a few kids from each team to try out. Ryland tried out and not only did he make it, but he made the A team, the top team! We were super excited for him and it turned out to be the best thing for Ryland. He was able to play ball for another month with players that were really good and helped him improve. His coaches were so good too. They had lots of practices and just days of batting practice. We were so glad Ryland made the team and he improved a ton just in the month of All-Stars. It was fun to watch him play in the tournaments. Some games were super close and really intense, which is crazy because they are 5 and 6 years old! The kids just loved playing and had a great time, win or lose. Rylands team took 2nd place in the farmington invitational and 2nd place in the state tournament as well. We lost both times to the mount olympus team that was amazing! So maybe next year we will take over 1st! :) He got a new Farmington baseball uniform that he was super excited about. Hitting the ball He played catcher a little bit but was usually playing 3rd base. Great, great coaches! Rounding the bases, Ryland hauls from base to base. He has got some speed. Ready! He slid into home for the first few games every time! Regardless of if he actually need to or not. He loves to slide into the bases. Go Team Ready to hit Playing outfield As crazy as it was going to baseball every night for a couple weeks straight and practices between the games, we were just about to be baseball burned out. I totally miss it now though. It was so fun to watch these kids play. Here is the end of season awards ceremony 2nd in State! Great job Farmington! Great season Ryland! Can't wait for next year!

Cams Soccer

Camden survived his first soccer season. He loved going to the games and feeling like he had something that was just his to do. Cam did great! Some days he was more into it than others but had a great time doing it. He was easily bribed to play with the treat at the end of the game! :) That was his favorite part. Here is his cute little team He scored one goal and it was pretty much the best day ever for him! :) He was so proud! Great job Cam! He couldn't wait for the medal at the end of the season. He has seen Ryland get medals in the past and he has always wanted one. He was so excited when he finally got it!! He worked hard for the medal! :) And our attempt and a picture with his medal and soccer ball. Love my Camden!
