4 year stats and other news of note

Just for the record.....I took Ryland in for his 4 year check up and he is officially 52.8 pounds and 45.5 inches tall. Yep, just a big as we thought he was. He is easily confused for 5 or 6 most days. I wouldn't have it any other way. Love my big boy! He impressed the doctor by knowing all his colors, singing the abcs (in a super high pitched voice might I add) and counting to 30, pretty close at least. :) He also showed him his fast shoes and how fast he can run in them! Ha ha! Also since I have been slacking on this blog lately, just thought I would highlight some of the more important events of the last month. My borther Scott left for his mission the end of February He was called to serve in Boston Massachusetts. We enjoyed spending a lot of the month with him doing different things. He did an amazing job on his farewell, I was sad Lance as out of town for that one. But I was also amazed at myself for getting oranges rolls made, myself and the boys showered dressed and ready and the driveway shoveled all by 8:30 so we could be out the door and on time! Go me right? :) I felt very accomplished! Anyway, here are some pictures from the farewell and the day he left. We will miss Scott! Love this one of Camden and Great Grandma! The 12 siblings minus Derik who is serving in Oregon, but will be back in 2 months!! Oh Cam did a stand in for Derik here! :) Scott and Ry We did a little bit of arm wrestling later that afternoon. I didn't get any pictures till this broke out. Cam vs McKaylee. It was too cute! We also moved Camden into a toddler bed a couple weeks ago. He does pretty good for the most part. I think he may have slept on the floor a couple times....? Ya know fun times for a toddler. I am just glad I don't have to worry about him climbing out of the crib anymore. :) Love sleeping pictures! And last but not least Lance spent many hours putting together our wonderful new bedroom set. We love it! We decided after seven years of marriage maybe it was time to get a nice bed frame, dressers and night stands. I am glad we did, and I love our new picture above the bed too, yea! Happy March everyone!

Ryland is 4

Seriously, did I just say 4? I can't believe how fast those 4 years have gone!! Ryland turned 4 on the 13th of March. We had a great time celebrating most of last week. His birthday just kept on going, it was great. The celebrations started on Tuesday when he got to bring a treat to his preschool class to share with everyone. Of course he took cheese and crackers, his favorite snack, and the good ideas goes to Lance. He was super excited to share with his class. They sang happy birthday to him and his teacher baked him this bear shaped bread, which he already ate the head and nose of! He loves bread so that was a great gift for him! Everyone in his class drew him a picture as well. Aren't these 3 and 4 year olds great artists? :) The morning of his birthday he woke up to balloons and happy birthday as per tradition. He woke up super early as usual so he was watching a show when we came in with the balloons. I love his super shy face of oh I am not excited about this...ha ha! He loved it, both the boys did. We opened up a few presents before Lance left for work on his birthday. Of course we had to open the one and only gift he asked for, a pair of binoculars. Yep winner! As soon as he opened them he asked to go camping! Ha ha! He was SUPER excited about this and seriously did not take them off once that morning. I am not sure where he even got the idea but good thing we delivered!! He spent most of the morning outside checking out all the bugs, trees, and birds. It has been a fun toy for him. It was such a BEAUTIFUL day on his birthday, the warmest day we have had by far since October. It was so nice. We had a picnic lunch in our front yard. Both the boys loved the warm day. And yep still wearing those binoculars! ha ha! Lance took a half day off work so we could celebrate. We opened up the rest of his gifts when he got home. He got some new baseball stuff. We signed him up to play t-ball in April so we had to get him all ready right? And what better thing to do on a beautiful day than to ride our bikes over to the park and play some baseball. Ryland actually rode his bike all the way to the park this time too!! All the way being like 1/4 mile, thankfully we live super close to parks here. It was super fun. At first Ryland had Lance pitch him the ball, he is getting pretty good at being able to hit it. He was loving every second of it. Then he went to the tee and hit some homes runs that way. I think he is really excited to play t-ball. It is fun to watch him already, I am excited for him if he isn't! :) Then it was off to the playground with Cam. Perfect day for being outside! That night we had some family over for cake and ice cream. We made him a baseball cake this year. Nothing to spectacular, but he loved it! He loved all his gifts, thanks for coming everyone! Then it was on to the singing and cake. It was so fun to celebrate with him. I love that he totally gets birthdays now and is so excited about them. It was so fun to celebrate all day long. On Thursday we had to check out some more things with the binoculars. Seriously, not sure if it will get old! Ryland also took a spill on his wiggle bike that day as well. He has been getting pretty brave to go faster and faster down our hill and maybe he went a little too fast this time. I didn't see what happened, he was outside playing with his good friend Boston when I hear him start crying. His friend brought him in, his nose was bleeding and he was pretty scraped up on his face and legs. Thankfully nothing was broken and he didn't seem too hurt. Time only made this scrape on his nose worse. Check it out! It didn't look too bad when he came in up it always gets worse before it gets better right? Everyone asked him all weekend long what happened to his nose. He explained it every time that he crashed on his wiggle car. And that he did! Saturday we had a small pirate party with some family and friends. It was crazy but a lot of fun. He loved celebrating with all his friends. My little pirate! We had pizza for lunch Opened presents \ And played lots of pirate games. Everyone loved the cupcakes. Love Rys bandana here, ha ha! We even went on a treasure hunt to end the party. Lance read the map and we sent them all over trying to find the buried treasure. Ryland and Asa were sure it was under this rock, which it wasn't! :) It was so fun to watch these little ones get so excited about everything! Not on the porch either. Lance gave Ryland the last clue and they found the treasure under the deck stairs. Pirate favor bags for everyone! It was a super fun party and I think everyone had a great time. And what is better than a nice nap after a long birthday week. He was out cold here. Happy birthday Ryland. We love you so much and can't imagine life without you. You keep us laughing and we always have a good time with you. You are kind and such a good big brother. We love your big hugs and can't wait to see what this next year brings! Happy Birthday Ry!
