Temple Square & A New Bed

We had some amazing weather here the first weekend of Decmeber. We had to take advantage of the not so freezing temps and go look at the lights on temple square. As always it is amazing how many lights they get on those trees. It was beautiful and the boys loved looking at the lights and the fountains. Ryland has been super into taking his camera with him wherever we go and taking his own pictures. (Thanks Nana!) Cam was nice enough to sit in his stroller so we didn't lose him in the extra large crowds of people. And a trip downtown wouldn't be complete without catching a ride in the free trax zone. The boys LOVE the train and think it is the best day ever when they get to go for a ride. Look at that pure joy! And yes Camden made this face basically through the whole thing. He was so curious about every little thing. He loves trains right now, both the boys do. It was a super fun night!! As I am watching it snow outside right now I am glad we got out and enjoyed the warm temps while they lasted. We also decided Ryland had basically out grown his little toddler bed and it was time to get him in something a little bigger. What do you think? This is Rylands toddler bed mattress. He is almsot as tall as it. We brought up the bottom bunk of our bunk bed set and got it all set up for him. He was super excited about his new bed. Lance and Ry trying it out. Yep, much better. And sound asleep in his new bed, and yes with his huge pile of blankets he has to have on him every night. In case you were wondering, Camden is still in the crib. I don't know if I am ready to get him in a toddler bed just yet. He finally is sleeping through the night and I would hate to ruin that by changing his bed....maybe someday! :) One step at a time!

7 years!

Lance and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary on the 3rd, 7 years! Wow, it has been a great 7 years. We had a great time celebrating. We went out to dinner and then we to a play. Thanks Lance for putting up with that, it was fun. And we are more in love than ever! Thanks for a great 7 years Lance. He was so nice and got me these beautiful roses and a nice picture frame that he can write love notes on! :) So thoughtful and for fun, here is some pictures just for good old times sake. This is the first day we met, yes THE very first day we met. We were doing a service scavenger hunt with the ward. We were in the same group and things just went from there. I feel like we clicked instantly, it was meant to be! He sent me a text a couple days later and asked me out on a date to a movie and the rest is pretty much history after that. Here is the night we got engaged, August 10, 2005. And our bridal shots. So pretty, everyone should do bridals, so much less stressful than the wedding day! :) And our actual wedding day. It was super SUPER cold, what did we expect for December 3rd though right? It snowed a couple inches the morning of our wedding but broke out into clear skies after we were married. So a little wind and cold, but no more snow! Then we added little Ryland And now we are our family of 4. Love all of these guys so much. Happy anniversary Lance. You are so amazing and I love you more everyday. Thanks for doing all you do, I wouldn't be where I am today without you!

We are thankful

So I may have been a total slacker at taking pictures this thanksgiving...opps! We got to spend some time with Lances sister Lisa and little Ayla before thanksgiving. It was a beautiful night walking around City Creek seeing the lights, Santa and the play place. The kids had a blast. Here we are in front of the amazingly large Christmas Tree. The kids loved the play area. They ran crazy for a while there, too fun! Cute little Ayla, she is so fun. Ryland Camden We started out thanksgiving off this year by running a 5k. It was a little on the cold side until the sun came up and then it was beautiful. And insert the only pictures I got on thanksgiving. Here we are before we ran in the 5k. There is not better way to start thanksgiving then running in a 5k if you ask me. It was a blast. We weren't going for a special time or anything, especially running with the little ones in tow, but it was fun. We went and saw Nana and Pappy before the big feast at my moms that evening. It was amazingly delicious. We were so full of turkey and potatoes and all the fixings. The pie was divine as usual too. So yummy. It was a great thanksgiving and we sure do have lots to be thankful for this year. It has been a great year! As a side note, this brother of mine.... got a misison call the day before thanksgiving. He is going to Boston Massachusetts and leaves on February 27th. Congrats Scott, we are super excited for you! Also as another side note. My little Cam is just adorable and has taking a huge liking to a Mickey Mouse character toy and a little doggie. He has to sleep with them every night. Heaven forbid we ever lose these little guys, it may be a tragedy! I snapped this picture the other night. It was too cute with his arm around his mickey and his little dog not far. He loves them! The boys had a blast decorating for Christmas this year. It was super fun getting the lights and tree up. Can't wait for Christmas now!

Winter Snow

Last weekend we got A TON of snow. I got out for one last run with Camden while Ryland was at school on Thursday. It is hard to believe the day before all that snow I was enjoying this beautiful trail. And then the snow came.....it snowed basically from Friday to Sunday non-stop. It has been a super long time since I have seen that much snow. The boys thought it was grand! All ready to go and play! Ryland could barely walk across the lawn the snow was deep. He was concentrating really hard right here, I think so he didn't fall over! He made it! Yep, Camden played it safe and stayed mostly on the shoveled sidewalk. They loved playing in it. This was on Friday before we broke down and bought Ryland new snow clothes so Camden could wear his. Poor little Cam always getting the hand me downs! :) He was much warmer in his new clothes then he was here though. However, doesn't every kid love trying to catch snowflakes on their tongue? Ha ha, he was lovin this! We decided to go sledding on Saturday. We had never taken the boys before. They loved it, especially Cam. He would have gone up and down that hill all day. It was a great work-out for Lance and I to have to carry him up and down the hill every time. :) Here are some pictures of our snow fun. Yea for sledding and snow! So happy! He wakes up every morning now saying and pointing to the window "snow!" Walkin in a Winter Wonderland! Yes, I have been rockin out to Christmas music all last weekend too, snow is much better with the christmas tunes! Lance and Cam walking through the snow, you can see how deep it is on Lance here. We went sleding at a park like 2 minutes from our house. Cam was so tired after sledding he was out cold in the 2 minute drive home. So sweet... And then Sunday morning we woke up to even more snow, and it snowed until Sunday afternoon. So much snow!!! Our awesome deck chairs! You can't really tell, but this measuring tape is almost at 13 inches. That is right about what we got when all was said and done. So much snow. And yep story of my life now and forever. Ha ha! They really had fun playing in the snow for 3 days straight. And today, well, we are down to only a couple of inches left on the ground. Maybe we will actually have a white Christmas and winter this year. We have already surpassed the entire snow total from last year, so that is a good start. It was a fun couple of days! October 2012

Wow, where did October go? I can't believe we are already into November. So by way of update, here are a few things we did in the month of October. My little baby Cam is in love with trains. Thanks to Grandma Jo for getting Ryland this fun train book last Christmas. Cam will line these trains up all day. He loves them! And how can you not love the noise he thinks a train makes. Ha ha, cracks me up every time I hear it. Love this little buddy of mine. We went to Wheeler farm with Cousins Adelaide and Lola, and Nana and Maddie. The kids had a blast running through the hay maze and taking a ride on the wagon. And of course checking out all the animals. Feeding the ducks And they got to pick a pumpkin out too! It was such a beautiful day and such a fun time. We also had the first snow storm of the year a couple weeks ago too. The kids LOVED it. Ryland had school that morning but couldn't wait to get home so he could play in the snow. Cam was not quite sure what to think of it. There was no snow to shovel on the walks, but Ry and Cam both loved pushing the shovels all over the snow. And we built a snowman, I didn't get a picture of the beauty though. Oh well. It was a fun couple of hours for the boys! Lets see, what else in October. Oh yes, we had a super fun Halloween party at Lances dads house. It took the boys a few minutes to warm up to Pappy....:) Ha ha, his costume was awesome! The pirate and little raccoon. Love the tail! I should have taken a ton more pictures of this party. It was super fun and the kids had a blast. They ate mummy dogs, and pumpkin quesadillas. They also got to dip marshmallows in chocolate and sprinkles. And so much more. You can just imagine the big grins on their faces through this whole party. Thanks guys! We also went to the Pumpkin walk again this year. It has become a super fun tradition. The grandkids that came. Only missing a few here. Miles was super nice to hold Cams hand for a little bit. Too cute! And how can you not love Miles as Charlie Brown! :) Love it! Ryland and Thomas Cam thought the pumpkin trains were AMAZING! He loved watching them and cried when we told him it was time to move on. This boy and his trains..... They were showing the Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin show as well. The kids watched it for a little bit. And we enjoyed cookies and hot chocolate and James and Anns after, thanks guys! We carved pumpkins for family night the Monday before Halloween. They boys were not interested at all in doing that. Weird right? They definitely didn't want to touch any of the inside of the pumpkin. Ryland poked a couple holes on the outside of one, but that was it. Didn't see that going like that, but maybe next year! :)We invited Nana and Maddie over to help. Ryland had fun playing with Nana while Lance carved the elmo for him! Cam enjoying his family night treat, pudding! And the masterpieces. Maddie didn't finish hers, it was a cool wizard of oz one though. Elmo! Ryland had a halloween party at preschool the day before halloween. They did a parade outside for the parents. It was super cute. All lined up, aren't they adorable! They also sang some halloween songs for us too. So cute. He is loving preschool!! On Halloween we went to story time at the library with Ry and Cams cousin. They loved the having a witch read them stories. We also went to Lances work for a fun party there. The kids had a nice nap before we went out trick or treating. We went to Grandmas and Great Grandmas first. And before we went out. Yes it took Cam a little while to not want to eat the candy imediately after it was put in his bucket, wrapper and all! They made it about 30 houses. They loved getting candy and toys and saying trick or treat. It was a fun night. And of course you have to count it all with Daddy when you get back.
