Christmas 2009

We had a great christmas this year. It was busy as always but we both enjoyed it very much. Ryland was spoiled beyond belief. Lance and I realized we didn't need to buy him a thing. He was well taken care of...thanks everyone! It was fun to shop for him though and we did get him a few things. He didn't really understand much of christmas, but he loved playing with the wrapping paper and loves all of his new toys. It was great to have Lance's sister Brenda and her husband Luke and of course Ryland's cousin Adelaide stay with us all week. We started our christmas eve festivites by giving Ryland a haircut. Brenda is amazing with hair and did a great job on Rylands. He needed it pretty bad. Now he looks like he is 5 years old with his hair shorter, it turned out great though.
Most of the haircut went like this....ya, thanks Brenda for dealing with it. Maybe next time will go better :)

After the cut. Thanks Bren!

I just had to snap some pictures, so adorable!

We then headed to brunch at George's house. The food was amazing and we had a great time visiting with everyone there. We had to take some pictures of Ryland and Adelaide together of course.

Ryland, Adelaide, Lisa and Me

We spent Christmas Eve night at my parents house. We had an awesome Christmas eve dinner followed by a program.
All the grandkids did the nativity for us. So cute. Ryland was a bit to tired to join in on that one. Next year...

We went to Gildas for a little bit after the fun at my parents house. We had some awesome gumbo there....so good!

Lance was able to get his fousball skills on too. Too bad Lisa and I beat him and Brenda! :) Better luck next year guys!

We spent the night at my parents and enjoyed looking at christmas lights with them and of course watching elf.
Christmas morning started at 5 a.m. Lance and I were shocked when none of the kids were waking us up before then. Lance being the brother he is went and woke everyone up.
Going down the stairs to see what Santa brought.

Ryland loved playing with his toys and watching everyone open presents. Here he is with his new train.

He also loved the snack Santa put in his stocking. Nothing like strawberry apple puffs at 6 in the morning! Notice the adorable pjs my mom made all the grandkids for christmas! Love them!

We then headed home and enjoyed Christmas morning with Brenda, Luke, Adelaide, and Lisa here. So fun. Ryland was beyond spoiled with everything he got.
Ryland loved playing on this activity table Lisa gave him.

We had breakfast christmas morning and went to see my Grandma. Then we spent some time with Lance's Dad. Yes, he was spoiled once again. We had Ryland in his santa suit and Adelaide in her christmas dress so of course we had to get a few pictures again.

Ryland, Lance Brenda and Adelaide.

We had a great christmas if you couldn't tell. Sorry for such a long post! :) I have more pictures still if you want more!! We hope you all had a great christmas. What a wonderful time of year to spend with family and be able to celebrate the birth of our Savoir. We hope the new year brings us as much happiness as the ones before! :)

New Tradition

Lance Ryland and I went to the Larry H Miller sing-a-long last night. It. Was. Awesome! First off, it was free, can't beat that. Not only was it free, we also got free hot dogs, drinks, a voucher for a jazz game ticket and hello Jon Schmidt came and played too. Sweetness! Part of the Utah Symphony came and played with their conductor, and we all just sang 2 hours worth of songs including Jon Schmidt's 3 songs in the middle of that. We had a great time singing with a bunch of people we have never met before. It was a great way to celebrate the holidays. Ryland loved listening to the music and tried singing along too.
Ryland was lucky enough to get up on the big screen. He was sportin' his adorable Santa suit Grandma Jo bought him. He was a pretty popular dude!

He loved watching all the lights and music up on the big screens.

We had a great time and will for sure go again next year. So fun!

Jon Schmidt was great as usual. He was able to play his taylor swift meets viva la vida song. Love it! Here it is off of you tube. I got a movie of him playing it live, but you might was well enjoy the whole song. Seriously, it is that good!

Merry Christmas!

It's Christmas Time in the City

Christmas time isn't complete without a trip to the beautiful temple square. We were able to go last week with my family. It was amazing as always. There are SO many lights. So awesome and a great way to get you in the christmas mood. We had a great time. Ryland loved seeing all the lights and stayed, amazingly enough, really warm!
Ryland chilling with Dad Derik and Scott waiting to go out in the cold.

The little bear

He was wrapped up really well in his stroller. He looks like he can't move in this picture. He can, he just choose to sit like that! Pretty funny

Ryland and his cousin Kira who is just 6 months older than he is. He is basically the same size as her because he is huge. They just look so adorable together.

Family pictures

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you have a great week! Should be nice and busy as usual! We can't wait! :)

9 Months

Ryland turned 9 months old last Sunday. We went to his wellness check up today. Here are his most recent stats. He now weighs 21 pounds 8 ounces (60%) and is 29" long (75%). He is getting so big and so much fun. He is such a great kid too. He can almost crawl. He does a really awesome scoot thing as of now. Here he is showing off his skills...I know, we are the nicest parents and make our child crawl for his bottle! :)

I am sure it won't be long before he is getting anywhere and everywhere. He has 2 teeth. He loves to chase Baylee around the house in his walker and read books. However last night he found himself in an interesting situation while in his walker.

Please note, Ryland was in no way injured and was closely supervised while performing this stunt!
He can say Da Da and loves to wave Hi to people and try to say hi. And has learned how to scream very well. It can be quite loud and girlish at times! Lance and I don't know what we would do without this little one around. He is our pride and joy! To celebrate his 9 months and being such a good boy at the doctor, he got a cookie! :)

In case you were wondering...

This is what Ryland did while I shoveled the walk this morning. And yes, he enjoyed every minute of it. If you look close you can see the newest addition to his mouth, his tooth!

And I thought I loved you then....

4 years ago today was the best day of my life! Words can't describe how great it has been to be married to Lance. He is the best husband, father and friend I could have ever asked for. The last four years have been so awesome. Full of ups and downs but mostly love! I am sure you all have heard the song Then by Brad Paisley. That song is the best. It pretty much sums up my thoughts today.
"I remember trying not to stare the night that I first met you. You had me memorized. Three weeks later in the front porch light taken fortty five minutes to kiss goodnight. I hadn't told you then. I thought I loved you then.
Now your my whole life. Now your my whole word. I just can't believe the way I feel about you. Like a river meets the sea, stronger than its ever been. We've come so far since that day, and I thought I loved you then."
Love you babe! Happy Anniversary! Here's a look back on our wedding day.

The whole group at the temple after the wedding. It was FREEZING!! We got about 3 inches of snow the night before. No snow on our wedding day though!

This picture says it all. My little brother Derik rules! At our wedding breakfast we were all going around and introducing ourselves and saying how we were related. Derik was after my sisters Jenny and Natalie who introduced themselves as my favorite sisters. So Derik following right along with them introduced himself as my other favorite SISTER! It was pretty funny! He is clearly the one with his head down on the table. I had to laugh again at that one!

Lance and his best man and best friend Bryce

Our awesome christmas light cake.

This would be my little brother Scott stealing the keys out of Lance's pocket. So innocent looking....yeah right! He accomplished his mission though, Lance had no idea they got them! :)

The original 12, my we have changed A LOT in just 4 years huh?

And we are off for the night and on our way to the lovely Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I wish we were on our way to Mexico again tomorrow. We had a blast! :)

Thanks again Mom for making our wedding day the best. We have so many great memories from that day!

We are Thankful

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. We spent it in the warm, sunny, 70 degree weather in Mesquite. That was good enough for me. It was nice to see the sun and feel some warmth for a couple of days. We stayed with Lance's mom and most of his family was able to come as well. We ate way too much food as usual and had a blast playing games and being together as a family. We did some black friday shopping, seriously black friday shoppers are crazy, I am not that into it! We were able to get most of Ryland's christmas done. We also went and saw the movie Blind Side. Very great movie, we loved it! You should all go check it out! It was such a fun weekend!
Ryland was spoiled way too much by his Aunt Marie and Aunt Lisa. He loved all the attention from them! Thanks again!

Ryland and Morgan. He enjoyed having someone close to his age to watch and play with. Morgan did great playing with Ryland. He loved it!

Family Picture before Thanksgiving Dinner

Grandma Jo got Ryland this most adorable Santa outfit. He is pretty much the cutest Santa out there! Adorable!

Ryland enjoying some of Grandma Jo's famous cheese pie! He loved it!

And of course there are many things we are thankful for this year. Clearly the two things I am most thankful for are
1-My husband! Lance is awesome and takes such great care of Ryland and I. I love that I can stay home everyday and watch Ryland grow up and enjoy being with him. He is such a wonderful father to Ryland. He loves him so much!

2-This little man. Seriously, how is my child almost 9 months old. He is such a doll and both Lance and I can't get enough of him everyday. We couldn't have asked for a better child!
He either does this

Or this when I point my camera at him lately. Such a great kid!

We hope you all had a great thanksgiving! Now its time to bring on Christmas!
