18 Months and More

Wow, so much has happened in the last month. Ryland turned 18 months a couple weeks ago. He is at the top of the charts weighing in at right around 31 pounds and 1 and a half inches shy of 3 feet tall. We get too many comments that go something like "how old is he, 2?" :) We love are big guy though and he has been so much fun to watch grow up. It is hard to believe that just 1 year ago he was this small....

They grow way too fast. We attempted to take some pictures of him when he turned 18 months. That was nearly impossible because he doesn't want to sit still for more than 2 seconds. Here are a couple of what we got. Good thing we know we are not professional so we weren't too disappointed that they aren't amazing! We will leave that to the pros.

He has several words in his vocabulary now and learns a new word or sound almost everyday. His favorite words are still Lisa, Dada, Baylee, Ball, Ya, and he loves to shake his head no, thankfully he can't say that one yet! :) He loves to "play" the piano. He can open it by himself now and will play on it whenever he feels like it.

He is also starting to like books again! Yeah! He had about a 6 month spell where I couldn't get him to let me read to him. He is starting to like it again now and we have been loving reading. He pulled 501 spanish verbs off the book shelf the other day. He was pretty interested in that book for quite sometime!

He also loves to wear Lances shirts, he pulls them out all the time and wants me to put them on him. Little Lance huh?

He also loves this monkey song. Seriously we sing it all day long and it never gets old. And he loves to give 5, rocks and peace!

We got to spend some time with baby cousin Adelaide this last weekend. Ryland loved having a playmate all day long. They got along great and had fun playing together. We did a 5k walk for Lukes brother that recently passed away from cancer. Ryland love his bandanna and walking the 5k.

Ryland also has a new favorite shirt

Yep thats right, Ryland number 2 is due February 7th. And yes, Ryland number 2 as in it is a BOY! We are so excited to have a little brother for Ry. He doesn't have any idea what is going on, but this was the face he gave me when I asked him if he wanted a little brother. He also thinks he needs to pose like that whenever I take his picture too. So funny.

We are way excited to have another little one running around. Now the only problem is another boy name....any ideas?
We also recently moved Ryland into a toddler bed in prep for the new little one. To say he LOVES it doesn't quite do it justice. We wanted to start the transition with plenty of time before the baby came just because I usually hear most kids have a hard time going from crib to bed. So we found an awesome bed and set it up and from that moment on Ryland loved it. He went right to bed in it the first night and has slept in it ever since with 0 problems. We are way too lucky with this little guy. He is so good!

So that is pretty much it from us for now. Now if we can just get some fall weather to come our way!

State Fair

Believe it or not Friday night was my first time ever attending the State Fair. Crazy, I know! So Ryland and I got to experience it for the first time with our great tour guide Lance. He used to go there for field trips in elementary school so he had been there several times. We had a great time enjoying ourselves with the good old country folk! And what better way to spend a Friday night then with farm animals, fried food, farm smells and of course a big yellow slide? It was great to finally go and we just might make a tradition of it. We shall see. Ryland loved this station they had set up. He got to wear his own apron and carry his own pail and got to help do several jobs on the farm. As I said before, he is big into helping so he loved this one! Doesn't he look like an adorable little farm boy?

He got to feed the cows, collect apples,

ride a tractor,

collect eggs which as you can see from this movie he was a little scared to do....

and several other things. He even got a shot at being a real farmer with mommy!

The best part was at the end he got paid a fake dollar and got to go and pick a snack from the market for all his help. It was pretty cool, he loved it. Lance was so excited to take Ry on the big yellow slide. I am pretty sure that was his favorite part of the fair as a kid. So he took Ryland up the many stairs and here they come!

He was a little scared of it, maybe it was a little big for him still. :) Ryland also got to pet his first horse at the fair

and went on his first train ride.

Overall it was a great experience at the fair. Thanks Lance for a great night!

Utah Game

Last saturday Lance took Ry and I to the Utah football game with him. We had so much fun together. Ryland loved watching the band play before the game started and did pretty well watching the game too. It was great weather for the game too. Lance and Ry before the game started.

You can see here our sweet seats!

Family picture...clearly I am focusing more on trying to get us all in the picture than I was on smiling! :) Better luck next time!

Ryland spent a lot of the game like this

He was interested in everything the little girl in front of us was doing. It was pretty funny to watch. I think she got pretty annoyed of him when he kept stealing her seat. :) They had fun playing together. Thanks Lance for taking us! Love ya!

Down, Set, Hike!

Lance has been getting Ryland all ready for football season this year. They practice this move several times a day. Ry loves it.

Also, we recently went and fed the ducks at the local pond here. This is the first time Ryland has done that. He loved chucking bread into the water. The ducks were quite ungreatful....they ate a couple of pieces and then they were on their way. That is the first time I have fed ducks and not been attacked by everyone and their moms ducks while trying to throw out as much bread as possible. These guys could care less, we were just old news! Ry had fun none the less though.
