The Garbage Man

Seriously, I don't think this will ever get old. Tuesday is garbage day. Ryland is T.E.R.R.I.F.I.E.D of the garbage man. I mean completely scared to death of this man that collects our trash. Even just saying the garbage man makes him nervous. So being the amazingly nice mom that I am, I pulled out my camera today when the garbage man came by our house. Ryland was playing in his room with his cars when I heard him coming. This is what resulted when he heard the very scary garbage man coming. You can kind of hear the garbage truck in the background of the movie here.

To Ryland's dismay, we live on a corner house with a small circle on the street next to us. So not only does he have to hear it go by our house but he can hear it all around the circle too. This movie is while the garbage man is in the circle. You can just see the look of fear on his face here.

Poor Ryland! He has been scared of the garbage man for a couple months now. Maybe next week we will sit out on the doorstep and watch him drive by. :) Aw, the joys of parenting! Love you buddy!

Family Reunion

Last weekend Lance and I went to the good old Ramsey Family reunion. We headed out to Vernal and spent our weekend there enjoying some sun with the family. Friday night we met for dinner and watched some old family videos. It was fun to see people we had not seen in a long time. Scott and Ryland enjoyed being a girl and a football player! :)

On saturday we went for a hike. It was quite warm out but it was a short hike. Ryland enjoyed shoulder rides most of the time.

This was the face he made when we told him he needed to walk....

It was a really beautiful hike. Here we are at the end of the trail with cousin Emma and Kim.

We all couldn't wait for the main event of the night which included the awesome water slide pictured in the background of this picture.

It is always a blast. Ryland was completely terrified of the slide though. We took him on it about 4 times, all of which he ended up crying at the bottom of the slide. Ya, maybe next year. It was a little too big and scary this year. He did however LOVE jumping off the side of the pool.

He would have done this all night if he could have. He was pretty upset, and cold, when we had to get out for ten minutes because of a lightning strike. We had a great time and can't wait for the next reunion.

Independence Day Celebrations

We had a great time celebrating America's birthday this year. Most of the festivities took place on Saturday the 3rd for us. We were lucky enough to have baby cousin Adelaide, Brenda and Luke here to spend the week at our house. Ryland loved playing with Adelaide. Here is great picture comparison. Adelaide is only 3 months younger than Ryland but he is almost twice her size. Yes, Ryland is trying to sit on her lap in this picture. :)

They loved playing with/eating the letters off of the fridge.

Brenda took this great video for me while she was here. Ryland now calls me Lisa and sometimes Mommy. Seriously, see for yourself.

He probably picked it up from everyone else calling me Lisa, not mommy. :) It is pretty funny and I don't mind. He will figure it out one of these days! Thanks for the movie Bren!
We started off our celebrations with the annual 5K run. Here we are with my sister Kimberly before the race started.

It was a great run and perfect weather for it. We had great weather the whole day Saturday. When have we ever celebrated the 4th in less than 80 degree weather?? I don't think there has been a day yet. It was so nice! After the run we went to the parade. Ryland loved having random people throw him candy just because he clapped for them.

He also loved watching the bands. His facial expression looked basically like this through most of the parade.

He was getting tired and it didn't take long for this to happen after we got in the car.

We spent the rest of the day at the park celebrating with my family. We had a great time! Ryland loved playing on this water table. He LOVES water!

We set up the water slide again as well. That is always a party. Here is Ryland Thomas and Brian showing off their muscles before they went down the slide.

We took Ryland down the slide this year and he loved it! He was a little nervous the first few times, but once he warmed up to it, he didn't want to stop going down.

Ryland also made his own flag. He loved putting the stripes on and attempting to eat the sticker stars. He quickly realized they didn't taste that good.

Here is our attempt at getting a picture with the grandkids. Yep, that is the best I got. Better luck next year!

Lance did an amazing job grillin' it up at the park. We had some awesome carne asada burritos. They were super yummy, thanks Lance!

We also enjoyed this amazing flag cake made by Ann. It looked amazing and tasted as good as it looks!

Ryland loved playing on the playground and would go down the slide a million times with anyone who was willing to take him down. He was in heaven all day with being outside, water and the playground. What more could a kid ask for?

We headed out to fireworks after playing all day. Here is Ryland waiting for them to start enjoying his sucker!

Family picture in our matching shirts! :)

Ryland loved playing with this glow stick. It was great entertainment for him until 1 minute before the fireworks started it decided to break open and explode the glowing-ness all over his face, my face and our clothes! Awesome right? In my hurry to clean it all up I didn't get a picture. I am sure it would have been a good one though!

The fireworks were amazing this year as always. It is great how they sync the music to go with the explosions of the fireworks. Ryland loved watching them for about 10 minutes. It didn't take long for this...

to turn into this...

He was so tired. We had a great day and can't wait for next year already! Happy 4th!
