New Tricks

Ryland is growing up so fast. Here are couple movies of his new tricks.
He can now wave Hi. I don't really know if he realizes that is what he is doing, or if he just does it because we do it. Either way, it is really cute. He does it at the most random times like when we are checking out in the grocery store and and older women is behind us in line. He melted her heart. Pretty cute! Check it out (please ignore Lance and Trevor watching the Utah game in the background!)
Ryland also learned how to pull himself to standing from sitting in his crib. Yes, we promptly moved his mattress down as low as it can go so we won't have him falling out. He can still pull himself up but can't quite see over it now. He LOVES to stand and would do it all day if he had something to hold onto. He falls over sometimes, but is really getting the hang of it, he thinks he is pretty cool when he does it too.
In other news, Ryland is getting his first tooth! He woke up Sunday morning at 1....if you know Ryland, you know that is very not normal for him. We didn't know what was wrong with him. He just screamed and cried for about an hour before we were able to get him back to sleep. He woke up later that morning and had a terrible runny nose. We just assumed he must have gotten sick. Well last night, we got a good look at his little mouth while he was sleeping and sure enough there is a little tooth trying to poke through. Poor little guy is absolutely miserable. His nose is running, his eyes are all red, and he wants to just be held and loved all day long. Hopefully it will come in soon, until then, we are on some serious tooth watching, cuddling, and tylenol. :) Pictures to come soon, as soon as he will let me touch his mouth again!
And finally, this one is for you Marie, thanks for the outfit. He looks adorable in it!

Grandpa Drollinger

Lance's Grandpa passed away on the 5th of November. It is never easy to say goodbye to a loved one that is for sure. Lance was able to be with him at the hospital as he passed on. He was the ripe old age of 97 and suffered a massive heart attack on the 4th and didn't make it much further than that. And yes, I did say 97, so there is some comfort knowing he lived a very long and happy life. His wife passed away almost 3 years ago so I am sure they have had a happy reunion together. We made the trip to Vernal on Monday and stayed with my Aunt there (thank you Aunt Marlene for everything!!) We got up on Tuesday and went to the funeral in Rosevelt. It was a wonderful funeral. We were able to see a lot of family that we have not seen for a very long time. It was a great celebration of his life. He was an amazing man and I am glad we have his legacy to carry on. We were able to visit him a few months ago as he was in a care center in Springville. It was so fun to hear his stories and learn more about his life. He was very smart and taught us some great things. We were glad Ryland got to meet him before he passed on too. The pictures we got of 4 generations will be something we will treasure forever!  We will miss you Grandpa!

I love this little guy!
He may have somehow gotten a few bites of chocolate cake at the lunch after. This is what he thought about that...

Halloween

We had a great halloween with Ryland this year. It is so fun to have him around to celebrate holidays with us. It was such a gorgeous day, seriously we couldn't believe it was October. We carved our pumpkins, visited with the Grandparents, and Ryland actually made it trick or treating to one house! :) The lady up the street from us owns a bakery and gives out donuts...Lance and I couldn't resist using Ryland as our reason to get a free donut! Happy Halloween!
