Camping Trip

Over Memorial Day weekend, we took Ryland out for his first camping trip. We went up to Bear Lake with my bothers Chris and James and their families and my sister Jenny and her husband. It was so nice to get out camping again after a long winter! Here are some of the highlights from our trip! Ryland did really awesome. He slept great in the tent.We made sure he stayed warm with his clothes, "snuggie" and hat.He didn't make a sound until 5 in the morning the first night. The second night it rained so he had a harder time sleeping. Lance and I put him in bed with us and he slept great again after that. Such a good baby! We made a great breakfast Saturday morning and headed out to see Minnetonka Caves near bear lake. Too bad they were closed for the winter still, so we found a nice campground to have lunch and hiked to blue pond spring. Not much of a hike (more like a casual 100 foot walk) but it was pretty.
Then we headed to the beach of Bear Lake. Just our luck....it started raining about 15 minutes after being there.
My brother James and brother in law Trevor did get to take a dip in the freezing lake before we left though. My nephew Eric followed them right out there until he got about waist deep and realized how cold the lake was. He was so excited to get out swimming I don't think he minded at all. Trevor carried him back, he thought it was great fun!
We had a pretty good down pour so we went and got the "famous raspberry shakes" while we waited for the rain to pass. We got to eat in this special little wagon. :)
The sun came out again so we went to the park and had some Napoleon Dynamite style tetherball games. We felt pretty sweet! :)
The rain cleared for the rest of the evening and we got some good quality time with bocce ball and sitting by the fire.
We made it to bed and about midnight the rain came and didn't stop until we got up that morning. Thankfully it rained the hardest while we were trying to sleep. We packed up our soaking wet tent and headed out Sunday morning. It was such a fun trip and we can't wait to go camping again!

Splish Splash

Ryland's new favorite is BATH TIME!!! He finally discovered that if he kicks his legs and moves his arms it creates a splash. He is still mastering the art, but he had fun for a long while splashing around the other day. Watch this mad skill! :)

He almost had his first trip to the REAL Soccer game last week, too bad the tickets were sold out. He looked like a stud on his way there though.

And Ryland had his first trip to the Zoo. He had a great time!
He is pretty much the happiest most wonderful baby ever! We love him!

2 Months

If you are not already tired enough of my endless posting about Ryland....well this post is about him too. :) He is pretty much my entertainment and life right now, so that is what I post about. Today he is 2 months old. Time is going way faster then I ever could have imagined. I only wish when I was pregnant and only had 2 months left that it would have gone as quick as these first 2 months with Ryland has. He is such a good little dude and Lance and I love him more everyday. By way of a stat update
Weight....12 pounds 6 ounces  70th percentile
Height.....23 1/2 inches   60th percentile
Head.....41 cm  70th percentile
So he is a pretty well rounded little boy and healthy as can be. He can almost hold his head up on his own and is basically sleeping through most nights. We are practicing rolling over, but he can't do that yet. He slept the whole time the doctor was checking him. He woke up right at the end just in time to give the doctor one of his huge smiles. The nurse came in and he was smiling at her too....little did he know she was going to give him his shots. Of course he screamed for a minute but was fine by the time we left. This is what he has looked like today after his shots.
He spent most of the day doing this, probably because of those shots.
He got this way cute new outfit from our neighbors so I had to take a picture.
And how could we not buy him these little gems. Love them!
And here is a two month old movie, mostly for the Grandmas. He was trying to be happy after his shots, but he wasn't exactly in the mood.
Happy 2 months old Ryland! We love you!

Weekend Events

Wow what a crazy weekend it was. Lance's brother Jonny got married on Saturday and we were able to do Ryland's blessing on Sunday. It was a really fun weekend full of family, good food and many pictures. I will try not to have too much of a picture overload here.
First off, Jonny was married on Saturday to Misty in the Salt Lake Temple. They are a great couple and we are so happy for them. It pretty much was pouring rain when they got out of the temple so we had a hard time taking too many pictures outside. Thankfully we had umbrellas.
It made things interesting with the rain, but it did clear after the lunch and they were able to get some pictures without the rain. The flowers were absolutely beautiful on the temple grounds.
Lance, Ryland, Jonny, and our bother in law Luke. What good lookin guys! Jonny and Lance look nothing alike, they are real brothers though, I promise!
Lances sister Marie and Lisa got to take Ryland to breakfast with them while we were in the temple. He had a great time and they took great care of him. He misses all the attention from them already. They are so good to him.
This is Lisa with Ryland
And this is Marie with Ryland.
And here is us with Jonnys beautiful wife Misty at the reception.
And now for Rylands blessing. It was such an awesome day. Ryland looked like such a stud in his tux.

We had fun with family again, here are some pictures from the day. Here is us with Ryland.
Here is my family with him. It was so fun to have everyone there except for Brian who is on his mission.
Here is Lance's Mom and family
And Lance's Dad and family
We were so greatful for all the support from our families. It was a wonderful day.
And last but not least....Happy Birthday to Lance tomorrow. He is such a great husband and I just fall more and more in love everyday!! Have a great birthday Lance, I love you!
