We had a great time celebrating Independence day this year. We started the morning off with an awesome 5k. We have loved this tradition of running in the morning, great way to start the day off. After the big run

We signed Ryland and Camden up for the kids race again this year. They were super excited to have their own race to run in again. Ryland was taking this very seriously, especially being the super competitive kid that he is. Stretching out with Dad

Starting Line, there were a TON of kids.

Here is a little movie of the starting line. Yep, Ryland came ready to run and the 2 other boys in red shirts as well that you see bust out in front with Ryland, yep, they took 1 2 and 3.
Ryland took 3rd place out of all those kids and was so proud of himself. He was SO excited about the achievement. And so were we, it was so fun to watch him do well. Ryland kept saying over and over, "I can't believe I did that". It was awesome! Nice work Ryland. He was pretty proud of his ribbon and free kids meal to texas road house! :)

After the race, we headed to the parade. Cohen was so excited to go to his first parade. Lance was nice enough to keep him shaded under the umbrella.

The crew

Derik was nice enough to hold the freaked out Cam. Ya, he still isn't a fan of the firetrucks and police cars that come at the start of the parade. Even though he does love firetrucks, just not that loud! :)

We saw Kellilyn in the parade! :)

And Cohen scored his first popscile, or two, and loved it. Great way to cool off during a hot parade.

We spent the afternoon at the park and pulled out the slip n slide. It was a nice and warm day so perfect for cooling off in the water. It was such a fun afternoon, we had a great time. Ryland couldn't wait to go down, pure joy! He loved it!

Cam enjoyed filling up the kid pool

And then took his turn trying out the slide

Fun Times.

Yep Lance and I even got in on the fun.

And can't forget Cohen, he loved the kiddie pool

We also had some amazingly delicious food as well. What is Independence day without a good old BBQ? I could have taken picture all day of this super happy boy enjoying some watermellon

Seriously!!! I love that boy, his smile, hair, everything about that happy little face.

I am fairly positive that Ryland ran 8 miles between all the up and down on the slide.

He couldn't get enough and had a great afternoon.

And last but not least for the busy day is up to fireworks. James entertained us, mostly Cam who loved the guitar, with music while we waited for the fireworks to start.

And Ryland spent his time waiting throwing the baseball with Lance.

And hanging with me!

Cohen was in love with his first glow stick!

Ha ha! Love this boy so much.

It was a great day and we are so lucky to live in this amazing free country. Happy Independence Day!
