Pop goes the weasel

This is what Ry does at least 10 times a day now. It is probably his favorite thing to do as of late. During swimming lessons a couple weeks ago we would sing the song pop goes the weasel as we all swam around in a circle. I think that is where he picked this up from. It is quiet funny to watch. He keeps pushing all the buttons on the toy until he finds pop goes the weasel and then he will get up and dance around the helicopter in a circle. Seriously where do kids figure this stuff out?? Hilarious! Watch and enjoy and many thanks to Auntie Marie for the endless entertainment this helicopter has supplied to Ryland since his birthday! He loves it!

In other news, check out Ryland's hair from this morning. I think he slept on top of his head! :)

Family Reunion 2010

Ryland put his swim lessons to the test at our family reunion this year. We headed to the lake for a day of sun, water, and wave-runners. We had a blast, it was a perfect day and the water was super warm. Ry loved playing with all the sand toys.

He also loved being in the water, especially with Lance. Every time he would get out of the water he would shiver for 5 minutes while he dried up. The water was almost warmer than the air outside was! :)

Lance enjoying the water.

Ryland showing off his new swim skills.

Soaking up the sun.

Ryland also loved laying in the warm sand.

Lance took Ryland on his first ride around the lake. It took a minute for him to get used to it but once he did, I think he enjoyed it.

The rest of the weekend was spent camping and enjoying family. Ry just had to help Grandma vacuum when he saw her pull it out.

There was lots of ping pong played

and tons of cousin time. The kids had a blast together.

Thanks JT for a fun reunion. We can't wait for next year!

Daddys Big Helper

Ryland is VERY into helping with everything lately. He wants to be doing everything we are doing and if he can't be helping we have to at least be holding him so he can see what is going on. When Lance was out mowing the lawn the other day Ryland didn't hesitate to help him. He loved helping. Thanks to Lance for walking around the yard very slowly with him twice so Ryland could feel like he was helping. Aren't they so cute together?

Also Ryland loves this dice necklace we got from team vegas on the Ragnar relay. He wears it all the time. Maybe I shouldn't let him wear girly things? :)

Ryland and I did a mother tot swim class with our friend Lisa and her boy Austin. It was an 8 day class that Ryland and I took together. He actually did pretty well and I feel like he at least improved over the 8 days we did them. He loved being in the water everyday. He didn't like trying to do back floats and front floats but he loved playing with the toys and singing the songs. He also loved gliding to his teacher Adriene. She was great and we had fun. Here is a picture of Ryland and his teacher.

All the kids got a certificate on the last day saying they passed the class and a sucker.

Ryland was so excited when I put him in his highchair when we got home and let him eat the sucker all to himself. I may never know how many licks it takes to get to the center of his lollipop though because he couldn't finish it. Probably a good thing. He loved it! Of course you can tell that just from looking at this picture.

Discovery Gateway

Last week Lances sisters Marie and Lisa were in town visiting. We had an awesome bbq with them one night last week. Here is Ryland and Lisa playing around there.

Marie spent Saturday with us having lunch and spending time at the discovery gateway. This is Rylands new favorite place to visit. He LOVED it. His favorite part was the ball chute thing which was also the very first thing he went to. He could have stayed there the whole time and I am sure he would have thought his visit was complete.

We however took him around to see everything. He liked playing with the water.

Marie and Ryland driving the car!

You can just see the pure excitement and joy on his face here.

He kept looking at me like this has been here all my life and you have never taken me here.....??? He was having a blast. We ran around upstairs for a while. Ryland was able to look over the balcony and saw his favorite ball toy. I asked him if he wanted to go back down there. He said yes and took off running for the stairs. He couldn't wait to get back down there.

He wore himself out after a good couple of hours there. We had fun hanging out with him and watching him discover all kinds of new things. Marie bought him this pinwheel and Ryland can't stop playing with it. He thought it was amazing when we went outside and a little breeze came and blew it for him.

He couldn't stop holding onto it in the car and feel asleep with it in his hand.

Thanks Marie for spending the afternoon with us! We had a blast. We can't wait to see you both again!
