Ryland turns 5

Ryland turned 5 on the 13th of March. It still seems so crazy to me that I have a 5 year old. Where have the last 5 years gone? How did that happen? My little baby has gotten so big and learned so much in the last 5 years. Ryland is the best kid ever. Every family needs a kid just like Ryland. He is so responsible, he has such a big heart, he is the best helper around, and I just don't know where I would be without him. He is the best. And he was SO excited for his birthday! He had been counting down the days for several weeks. He celebrated at his preschool the day before his birthday. He was lucky enough to go on a field trip to the dentist office that same day. It was fun because I was able to be there and help as well. It was so great to celebrate with him. He came home all decked out from celebrating his rockin' birthday at school. As a small side note. He also finally got to do the letter R at preschool a few days before his birthday. It was almost as good as his birthday to come home from school with his R shirt. He had to wait most of the alphabet for this shirt and was so excited when he got it. This shirt has become a staple in his wardrobe! He couldn't wait to get opening his giant pile of gifts the morning of his birthday. He was totally spoiled! Trying on the new jersey! Camden picked out these squirt guns for Ry. Between these and his new slip n slide, he can't wait for summer!! We skyped Auntie Rie Rie and Wilson while opening their gift. She nailed it with a tennis racket, tennis balls, and tennis clothes. He was so excited about them! So of course it was only fitting that we spend the afternoon playing tennis and enjoying a favorite lunch of Keva juice and great harvest bread! Good choice Ry! :) Love my little tennis player! He was in heaven playing tennis with Lance. After tennis, we went and picked out Rylands other gift. A new bike. We wanted to surprise him but weren't quite sure what size of bike to get so we took him to the store and let him pick it out. He has been on his bike non stop since his birthday. He loves it. He had completely outgrown his old bike and I think he loves having one he can ride again. It didn't take Camden long to figure out how to ride Rylands old bike. These two have been out doing this all the time the last couple weeks. Lance got his cake boss on and put together this little gem of a baseball cake for Ryland. He loved it, thanks Lance. We had a small celebration with family the night of his birthday. Blowing out his candles Lola got some practice in for her baby brother Luca who was born the next day. So happy he is here. Love these 2 Eatin cake! We had a great day celebrating with our little 5 year old. We also had a friend birthday party for him that Saturday. Ryland was so excited to have all his friends over to celebrate. We had a great time playing baseball, doing obstacle courses, playing games, opening gifts, lunch and doing a pinata. It was a great party. He has so many boys his age in our neighborhood, and they are all such good kids. It was fun to have them all over. Ryland was so excited about the pinata. Boys boys and more boys! Playing baseball! It was so fun celebrating Rylands birthday. I still can't believe he is 5. We took him in for his kindergarten check up last week. He is still topping the charts at 56 pounds and 48". He is at least on the charts in the 97% for height and weight. He is a big boy but such a gentle giant. He took his shots like a champ too. Didn't even cry and such a strong boy. He is such a great kid, we sure do love our Ryland. Happy birthday little buddy!
