The Zoo and Lagoon

We were super busy last week!! We finally made it to the zoo to check out the new bear exhibit they put in. It is awesome! I loved it and it was so fun to see some bears and other new animals there. They did a great job putting it together and it is super nice, and a really great viewing experience for everyone. We headed up there with our friends the Drapers, it was great to spend some time with them there. Sarah was so nice to hold Rys hand all over the zoo and help him see everything. She is great. They all loved climbing through this log. Cam checking out the sea lions, or thinking about how he can jump into the water below...! Chillin on a seal The polar bear was awesome. They have an underwater viewing place where you can see the bear under the water. Can you spot him? That was awesome. And this polar bear is way cool. He was doing these flips in the water and coming right up to the glass. It was way cool to see. Here is a little movie of his trick! And we finally got Ryland on the train. We have had a pass for almost a year now and he has always refused to ride the train. Which is fine with me because it saved us like 5 bucks every time we went. :) We asked him if he wanted to go this time and he quickly answered yes. I was shocked. So to the train we went, and he loved it. Here is the group of us on the train. He was excited about it too. Cam Mom and Dad, Cam loved the ride too! Checkin out the animals. It was a great trip to the zoo. They do these stay late at the zoo nights for members so it was so nice to go a little later in the day when it was not too hot and surprisingly not that crowded either. It was a good time for all! We also headed to Lagoon on Saturday to celebrate Lances sister Madison's 15th birthday. We were lucky enough to have a cool front move in the day before so we enjoyed some awesome 70 degree weather for Lagoon. It was perfect. And I am sure it will come as no surprise that this little one went and wanted to go on any and every ride he could.... And this other little one was perfectly happy to watch on the side and cheer his brother on! Seriously, Ryland wanted nothing to do with the rides for the first hour. He is super shy and gets really nervous around new things. We thought we would try with the boats first and he freaked out. So here is cute little Cam riding by himself having a grand old time. We walked all through the rides trying to have Ry get excited about at least one of them. Finally he saw these little cars and said he could handle that one. So on the cars he want with Cam. He had fun too and really liked it. But then he only wanted to ride the cars, over and over and over.... So that was fun. We ran into my sister Becky, Terry, and their kids while we were there. They were so nice to hang out with Ryland and go on the rides with him and he was finally getting brave enough to go on some other rides. Zack and Ry on the bumper cars. He even let Ryland drive for a while! Thanks Zack! And he really started to have a good time. Thankfully! We were glad he finally got over his fear. He really started to have fun on the whales. You can hear him laugh with delight at the start of this movie. I was so glad he was finally having a good time! Cam and Tyson on the helicopters. It was hilarious to watch two 1 year olds try and control the up and down of the helicopter. They were like this the whole ride I think, and yes, they loved it! Cam caught a couple minutes of sleep. He was exhausted after a full day of fun at Lagoon! Ryland spotted this little basketball game a few minutes after we got there and asked if he could play that. I told him no and we moved on until he saw it again. Ya know those little puppy dog eyes kids get, well we couldn't say no. We also didn't want to pay 2 dollars for him to play because you know there was no way he was going to make that. So we made a deal with the guy and said we will pay the 2 dollars, but you have to let Ryland shoot it and then Lance would get a shot as well. They guy was cool with it and so here is Ryland finally getting to take a turn at the basketball game. He was so excited and didn't even care that he didn't come close to making it. And Lance is amazing and stepped right up and made the basket on his only try, and scored Ryland a cute little lagoon bear, which I didn't get a picture of, but he did feel the need to take his bear for a ride on the cars with him. You can see him tucked away behind Cam there. Anyway, it was fun. Lance also got his dad to do the sky coaster with him. They are both much braver than I will ever be. While they stood in line, we went on the train. Ry waiting for the train to come with Nana and Maddie. Ryland and Cam both loved that one. Ry and Maddie. We got to Lance and his Dad just as they were suiting up. On their way up And what do they say, 3,2,1, and fly. Here they go. They had fun, and I am glad they made it back to the ground safely! It was a super fun day and Ryland would go on almost any ride by the end of the day. We were so glad he got over his fear and had a good time. Showing Cam how to ring the bell on the boats They had a great time together, love these two so much! And Happy Birthday Maddie! Thanks for the fun time at Lagoon, we loved spending the day with all of you and had a great time!!
