Happy Birthday Lance and More

Lance celebrate his 28th birthday last Thursday. 28, wow, we are getting old. Where does all the time go? Ryland loved helping me make daddys favorite cupcakes. He also was excited to help Lance open all of his gifts. Happy Birthday Lance. You are the best husband and father. We love you!

We drove to Mesquite on Lances actual birthday to spend the weekend with Lances family. It was a great weekend full of SUN. That was the best part. It seems like it has been raining here so much lately it was so nice to enjoy the sun and some 90 degree temps. Ryland loved spending his mornings with his grandpa again. They went on a walk every morning which is Rylands most favorite thing to do. Grandpa was nice to take the extra time and walk at his pace and stop to look at all the "big trucks", ducks and water along the way. He loved their walks and came back with a big smile on his face every morning. And of course Grandpa hooked him up with some chocolate milk and a show to watch when they got back.

We spent part of the day Friday up in St. George visiting some friends of Lance who he served his mission with. They are now serving at the home of Jacob Hamblin there. We had a little tour of the house and such, it was pretty cool to see. Ryland loved running around outside. So much in fact, this is probably the best picture we got of him there.

We broke out the new bubble blowers, squirt guns and a pinwheel when we got back to Grandmas. Ryland would have done this the whole weekend and been perfectly happy. He actually did spend most of the weekend out on the patio playing. Loving the sun.

Trying out the new bubble machine!

Blowing the pinwheel, seriously, what kid doesn't love one of these. Ryland LOVES these things.

Grandma and her boys!

Marie and James joined us as well. Ryland loved being out with Marie shooting bubbles at each other

and squirting the water guns at every plant, tree, rock, and patio pillar outside.

On Friday we went swimming. Ryland was so SO excited!

And so was Camden!

Before we left Grandpa found a turtle in his backyard. It was sweet. This little guy was just walking along up the rocks. Grandpa and Ry checking him out.

Then, we were off to the pool. The water is not heated so it was a little chilly at first but that didn't stop Ryland or Lance from jumping right in. Ryland loves swimming and with this little beach ball, we couldn't go wrong. He was in heaven.

Ryland and Lance

This is how Rys hair ended up after the swim trip. Hilarious!

We had a nice BBQ for Lances birthday Friday night. The food was great and we had fun celebrating for Lance and his Aunt Annabel. Grandma Jo pulled out a kite and took Ryland in the backyard to fly it. It was super windy outside, and given the circumstances, she did pretty well. Ryland loved watching it try and fly.

Here is a little movie of the event. It was fun. Flying kites is always an adventure! Good work Grandma Jo!

Just as the sun was setting Marie suggested we take Ry to the park right by his moms house. Great idea. It was prefect temperature outside and he loved playing at the park. They had fun going down all the slides.

Ryland even convinced Marie to go down the tube slide in this movie. Marie is such a great Auntie. Ryland loved all the attention he got from her!! Thanks Marie!! Watch these made slide skills!

Playing on the playground

Lance and Ryland swinging.

Marie and Ry tried doing the spider.

And the 3 grandkids that were there. Camden, Ryland and Mason. Yes, Ryland looks huge next to both of them! It is going to be so fun when they can all run around together.

We had a great trip. It was so nice to just getaway for a few days and enjoy the sun after a long winter. Thanks for having us Grandma Jo and Grandpa. And thanks Marie and James and Jonny and Misty for the fun weekend. We can't wait to do it again! And yes, we made it all the way to Nephi on the way home without stopping! Nephi people! Miracle....I think so. The boys were so good, we love them!
