This was Ryland's first airplane ride. We were not sure how he would do. We brought a bag full of snacks and toys hoping he would be well entertained on the just over an hour flight. On the way there, he did awesome. The plane wasn't even close to being full so he was able to sit on his own seat right between Lance and I. We left around his bedtime hoping he would either fall asleep or be really mellow. He took the latter of the two and was really mellow. :)
He loved eating his cookies as we took off.
They brought him his own apple juice with a lid and straw. That kept him busy for quite sometime.
And of course baby einstein to the rescue, he loves that show!
Friday morning we went to Alcatraz.
It was really cool. You take a boat out to the island and then we took the audio tour around the prison.
Ryland loved looking out at the water on the backside of the boat. This was his first boat ride as well.
It was kind of creapy being in there. I am super glad I am not planning on going to prison anytime soon! :) We don't like being stuck behind bars.

Enjoying the beautiful day on the island.
Ryland didn't exactly care too much for the tour. He would have rather run around outside the whole time. He did really well for quite a while and then he had a small melt down and finally fell asleep. I love how he is holding on the side of his stroller. It must have been an crazy ride!
Marie and Lisa kindly offered to watch Ryland while Lance and I went to the San Francisco Giants baseball game Friday night. Lance's bosses bosses bosses boss (something like that) hooked us up with some amazingly FREE tickets! They were great seats! It was my first MLB game so that was cool to experience. It was a beautiful night for a game too. We had a great time! Thanks Lance for having an awesome hook up and thanks Marie and Lisa for watching Ryland. He loves you guys!
We loved the clock on their sign. Pretty cool!
Saturday we enjoyed the day at the beach. It was so warm outside and we had a great time. As you can see in the movie below, Ryland didn't exactly care too much for sand. He wouldn't even put his feet in it most of the time. See for yourself....
I know we are awesome parents for trying to get him to walk in it while he is crying! :) It was hilarious!

After he got over his problem with walking in the sand, he didn't mind walking along the beach. They allowed dogs on this beach and Ryland LOVED watching them all run for their toys in the ocean. You can also see the golden gate bridge in the background there.
We walked along the beach to the base of the golden gate bridge. It was a nice walk and as always fun to see the amazingly huge bridge.
Sunday we went to the same beach again and walked along there and enjoyed the beautiful day. We were super lucky with great weather all 3 days we were there. Ryland loved kicking around this little soccer ball we got him.
He also had no problem walking over to this group of people sitting near by us and telling them a long story about something. He is not shy at all! They thought it was pretty funny.
This guy was throwing a ball to his dog. Ryland loved watching the dog go for the ball. He was standing near by the dog watching him. When the dog went to get the ball one time, he completely plowed over Ryland (on accident of course). Poor Ryland was totally terrified for a couple of minutes. Lance and I couldn't help but laugh while Lisa made him feel better. After he felt better he was right by the dogs side again watching him go for his ball.
Loving the warm sunshine!
Love this picture of Ryland!
And yes that is a replica mini world cup soccer ball. Wahoo, only a few more weeks until the world cup! We can't wait!
We were so sad to leave. We had a great time. Ryland did pretty well on the flight home. He is super glad to be back, he was so excited to see his crib last night and slept until 9 this morning. Thanks again Lisa and Marie for making our vacation great. We love you San Francisco!
Wow, that was super long. I am done now!

How fun! I'm totally jealous! I loved all the pics, and sadly I laughed at both the video of Ryland on the sand and the story with the dog plowing him over. :) But to my defense, I knew he was okay... does that make it okay to laugh?? ha ha!
That sounds soooo nice right now! I am glad that the weather was awesome. Ryland is getting so big- what a cute little guy!
Looks like such a fun trip!
That video was hilarious, haha!pholik
